FastDay Friends Weekly: Get your fasting off to a great start!

View this email in your browser

Hello errantbehavior, are you still fasting?

"Don't let a bad day turn into a bad week", that's my motto! This week my plans changed at short notice and I had to miss a fast. My loss was lower than normal, but the trend is still heading in the right direction. So remember, just because things haven't gone quite to plan that's no reason to give up!

If you've found yourself straying from 5:2 and want to get back on track I hope you'll find the articles and story below helpful.... and if you need an extra helping hand and personal support, our friends over at Ways of Eating will be opening registrations for their next 6 week intermittent fasting program very soon!

Mary-Ann lost over 20% of her starting weight with 5:2!

"At the age of 14, weighing a slightly heavy, but athletic 130lbs, I stopped eating. This lasted a year, after which I weighed 75lbs. At some point it hit me how scary it was being so underweight, and I started eating again. I ended up at ~150lbs and stayed that way for many years..."

FastDay Friends Weekly: Fasting... the good, the bad and the ugly!

View this email in your browser

Hi errantbehavior, how has your week been?

With the half term holidays firmly behind us I hope this week finds you getting back to the usual routine and enjoying your fast days.

Now the weather is warming up here in the south of England I'm starting to think ahead to the garden and what I can grow this year for some lovely home cooked meals - because as I'm sure we all know by now, we can eat whatever we like if it's homemade!

Do you like to cook from scratch? Do you grow your own ingredients? Come and let us know at the forum!

Nikki knew she couldn't diet 7 days a week. 5:2 is perfect for her!

"When I got married at the young age of 20 I was a skinny size 8, I could eat anything and everything and I had a very active job. I changed my career when I got to 24 and that's when things went downhill..."

FastDay Friends Weekly: Protein - is less more?

View this email in your browser

So, what do you think errantbehavior?

This week's hot topic as raised by our friend and author Belinda Berry is the issue of protein - and more specifically, protein shakes and powders. Are they really any good for us?

Do you use protein shakes or even other meal replacement shakes on your fast days? Personally I prefer home cooked food, or a good quality ready meal with heaps of veg if I'm low on time. There's so much you can do with 500-600 calories afterall! I tried some 'weight loss shakes' years ago... never again!!

Billie and her husband have lost 65lbs together thanks to 5:2!

"I have struggled with this weight for years finally weighing 15 stone at my heaviest. Like many people I have been on every diet known to man and have successfully managed to lose weight on all of them but never managed to maintain the loss due to the fact that I just could not live that way long term..."
