Hi, errantbehavior...

It's that time of the week again - more fasting recipes, funnies and science delivered straight to your inbox!

We've got a really inspirational success story for you below from Nikki, so if you've fallen off the wagon or are struggling do take a look for a bit of motivation.

There are still 2 months to go until the holiday season so plenty of time to get into good eating habits to curb the festive indulgence! As you can see from this week's recipe, you can still enjoy some hearty comfort food even when fasting.

Wow! Nikki went down 5 dress sizes!

Did you know...?

Hungry all the time?
We explain why you might be feeling hungry even when it's not your fast day.

Lots of positive thinking from fasters!

It's been really interesting reading the comments on last week's poll about failed fasts and certainly a lot of great viewpoints were put forward. The prevailing response in the comments has been that most of you don't consider it possible to fail a fast because you can just swap days. This type of positive thinking really helps us to stick to this way of eating. One day alone does not make - or break - a weight loss journey but with so many diets one 'failed' day seems to derail the whole plan (in our minds at least).

The poll results themselves support the above, indicating that the majority of us who have 'failed' a fast (33%), did so by our own choice rather than mistake (16%) - suggesting that we are still the ones in control over food and not the other way around. The really positive thinkers account for 19% of you, believing that failure isn't possible when you can just move your days around - and just as impressive is that 20% of you say you've never failed a fast, sticking to your days as planned. Well done!

This week's poll is about whether you have ever taken a break from fasting. Voting only takes a second so click here to stand up and be counted!

What a healthy bunch you are!

Last week we asked what sort of meals you have on your fast days and I'm delighted to see just how many of you cook from scratch on the day (56%) or prepare your meals ahead of time (13%). That's over two thirds of you eating lovely home-made food. If you need extra inspiration do check the recipe pages at FastDay for some great new ideas!

A few of you (3%) choose not to eat on a fast day and it's good to see that none of you depend on takeaway foods or eating out for your regular fast day meals.

Just over 1 in 10 of you (11%) opt for the speedy option of a ready meal while 17% of you vary between ready meals and home-cooked to fit around your lifestyle. I must say, I'm in that group myself. With recent health issues I often lack the energy to cook so I'm always sure to have a hearty, healthy ready meal in the freezer and some microwave vegetable pouches to accompany them.

This week's poll is about 'failed' fast days - if there is such a thing! Voting only takes a second so click here to stand up and be counted!

Americans & Canadians, it's not too late to sign up!

We've had an amazing response to the invitation in  last week's newsletter and have now finished recruiting volunteers for the UK, Europe and Australasian regions. There's still some room left for volunteers from the USA & Canada, so if you're a new or returning faster in need of help, click here to register your interest.
