Why hello there, errantbehavior!

Welcome back to another edition of the FastDay Friends Weekly Newsletter.  I hope you've all had a good week.

We had a great response last week to our invitation to join the trial run of our very first fasting program, but it's not too late to express an interest. More details towards the end of the newsletter.

Wow! Jane dropped 3 dress sizes!

Get in touch, we'd love to share it!

It's not all about the scales...

We're a friendly bunch over at the forum (do come and say hello if you're not an active member, we'd love to get to know you!) and we love to support & encourage one another.

It's not all about the numbers on the scales, so this week I want to bring to your attention the "Non-Scale Victories" thread. Why not come along and post what you've achieved through fasting? Lost that double chin? Are your rings feeling looser? We want to know!

Did you know...?

Tips if your weight loss is slow or stuck
You jumped on the scales and didn't like what you saw? Don't worry, we have some ideas.

Tell your friends, change their lives!

Last week we asked how many of your friends fast and it's fantastic to find out that more than half of you (56% to be exact) know at least one other person - often more - who fasts. Brilliant!

Just over a third of you (36%) don't have any real life fasting buddies, but 8% of you can hold out hope that before long you will have as that's how many of you have friends that are interested to know more about fasting.

We all know what a difference fasting has made in our lives. Why not help a friend change their life? Forward this email to them and get them on the fast track to success too!

This week's poll is about what sort of meals you prefer on your fast days, voting only takes a second so click here to stand up and be counted!

It's not too late to sign up!

We're thrilled by the response to the invitation in last week's newsletter, and we'd love to hear if any more of you would like to be involved in the trial run of our first online fasting program.
Whether you're an experienced faster who'd like to share their knowledge or a new faster in need of help, click here to register your interest.

See you at the forum!

Have you seen the new mobile FastDay Forum?

View this email in your browser

Hi there errantbehavior

Last week we announced the launch of our new mobile version of the FastDay Forum, designed with feedback from our community in mind!

We're delighted that the launch went so well, with very few issues reported by the community. Since last week we've also added a new option allowing you to force your mobile devices to use the desktop view if preferred, which in turn allows for the use of the "pinch zoom" feature on a touch screen. Thanks to all who suggested this!

Our lovely friend Caroline has written a helpful guide to the new features, which you can find here.

If you missed our email last week, here's what's new on the mobile site...

> Bigger, clearer font
We've made the font bigger and clearer so you don't need to squint when using a small screen!

> Easier to navigate
We've re-organised the menus so that you no longer need to scroll down the page to reach these and have put all those useful links in a convenient drop down menu.

> Simplified layout
We've removed unnecessary elements from the page for mobile view, such as avatars and user signatures, maximising on small-screen real estate for the really important stuff - the posts themselves. The forum and topic lists have also been optimised for the small screen.

> Recent topics
You can now access the full list of recent topics by clicking the link at the top of the quick list of recent topics on the forum homepage.

> Ads moved & removed
We felt some of the ads just cluttered things up so we've removed those and also moved some other ads to be less intrusive. Do please remember that we depend on advertising revenue to keep the site running, but we want to be able to find other means in future.

We hope the changes we've made make it easier for the you when browsing the site on a mobile device. We'd love to hear what you think about it!

As always, we have tried to do as much pre-launch testing as we can - but our developers are only human and if you should find any bugs please do let us know on support@fastday.com so we can work on resolving them as soon as possible.

We hope to see you at the forum soon :)

Incredible! Chris lost over 60lbs!

"Fasting has given me the control of food and my weight, which I never had before."

Could your fasting story inspire your fellow fasters?
Get in touch, we'd love to share it!

It's here! The FastDay mobile forum

Normally this spot in the newsletter is reserved for sending congratulations or encouragement to members of our community...

Today I'd like to use it to say a big thank you to our lovely dev team and tech guys who have worked hard in recent months to bring you the new mobile version of the forum which went live this week. We hope you like it!

Fastday explains some nutritional principles so you can eat mindfully.

The votes have been counted...

Last week we asked how you discovered intermittent fasting and it comes as no surprise that a great many of you (45%) were inspired by the original BBC Horizon documentary, Eat, Fast & Live Longer. Indeed, that's the way I found fasting as well!

What's really great to see though is just how many of you (23%) found this way of eating through word of mouth. It just goes to show that each one of us has the potential to change someone's life for the better by telling them that there really is a sustainable & successful alternative to the traditional diet industry.

Newspapers and magazines also account for a fair number of you (11%) being here and it's good to know that the press can be a positive influence like this.

However you discovered intermittent fasting, I hope you're finding it easy to stick with and working towards the health & weight loss results you're aiming for.

This week's poll is about how many of your friends fast too, voting only takes a second so click here to stand up and be counted!

An invitation...

We often get enquiries about whether we can help new fasters to plan their meals or guide them through the early days of fasting. While this is something forum members can do together, we're excited to announce that we've been working on an online course to help get new fasters started.

We're looking for volunteers to help us trial this course before it is offered on the website. Whether you're a new faster or an old hand your involvement and feedback would be great! Perhaps you have a friend who wants to try fasting and could benefit from this? The course lasts for 6 weeks, can be done online and has two weekly chat sessions of around an hour plus a dedicated forum group.

If you're an experienced faster who would like to help others, you might want to consider volunteering for the trial to see whether you might like to be a course leader in future.

If you'd like to be involved, please drop us a line on info@fastday.com for more details.

See you at the forum!
