View this email in your browser

Hello errantbehavior!

We talk a lot about working towards weight loss and better health, but every bit as important as that is the ability to keep the weight off once we've lost it! Some of us may already be maintaining, while others may not yet have given it much thought - but I hope we can all manage to maintain our new weight successfully when the time comes.

This fortnight's inspirational story is from a successful 5:2 maintainer, who has kept the weight off for a year now. We'd love to hear from more of you who've reached maintenance too, these stories are just as inspiring, especially for those nearing their goals. There are also some great tips on maintenance for you below, so do read on...

Kate's been maintaining her 5:2 loss for a year!

"I have been maintaining now for a year and I am now, one year in, between 62 and 64kg, depending on form of the day. But I also do not care so much about..."

FastDay Friends: Top tips for counting calories!

View this email in your browser

Hi there errantbehavior!

I don't know about you, but I like to keep things simple! A quick and easy home-cooked meal on a fast day is perfect, something I can make time and again and know what to throw in it without having to weigh or measure. The problem is, it's easy to become complacent and before I know it, there's a little bit more of this or that being thrown in and the calories creep up and up.

Just as important as weighing and measuring yourself regularly to keep on the right track, you should be careful to weigh and measure your fast day food too - it's surprising how quickly a 'little extra' here and there can add up! I recently got a set of smart food scales to help keep tabs on my intake and I have to say I think they're really useful. I like them so much that I managed to arrange a discount code just for FastDay members, in case any of you would like  a set too!  See below for details :)

Mary-Ann lost over 20% of her body weight with 5:2!

"At the age of 14, weighing a slightly heavy, but athletic 130lbs, I stopped eating. This lasted a year, after which I weighed 75lbs. At some point it hit me how scary it was being so underweight, and I started eating again. I ended up at ~150lbs and stayed that way for many years..."
